Director's Message

"Welcome to the website for the Texas State Data Center, Office of the State Demographer, and the Texas Population Estimates and Projections Program. These are an integrated set of programs located in the Institute for Demographic and Socioeconomic Research (IDSER) at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Their joint goal is to provide ready access to census and other information on the population of Texas and other areas and to provide timely analyses of the patterns of past, current and projected future populations in Texas and of the implications of such patterns for key issues facing Texas.

These programs provide current and historical census and related data for the State of Texas, and for counties, places, and subcounty and place areas in Texas. The data available also include current population estimates for all counties and places in Texas and projections through the year 2040 of the population of the State and counties in the State by age, sex, and race/ethnicity. Also available are reports describing recent population patterns in the State and their implications for socioeconomic and service change in Texas. All materials are available on a cost-reimbursable basis.
